27 Feb Electrical VS Electronics, do you know the difference??
We get lots of phone calls to fix electronics. I have noticed sometimes even people who set up search engines put electronics and electrical in the same category. The main difference between electricity and a circuit to power products and machines, Lets see if we can help with this!
Electronics: using circuits or devices using transistors, microchips, and other components. Examples of Electronics: televisions, DVD players, laptops, computers, mobile phones, iPods, iPads, cameras, fans, ovens, washing machines, game consoles, printers and radios.
Electrical: operating by or producing electricity. Examples of Electrical: Things you need to plug in or wire in to make it work.
Now, a fan has electronics in that tell it what to do (programming) but the electrical wiring hooking it up to the switch by your door is what gives it power to operate. It can be tricky, but there is a large difference in them.
Disclaimer: Remember to check and make sure your electrician is licensed and insured before they work on your home!
